Plate Magnets
Chute Magnets capture ferrous tramp metal in heavy product flows that would otherwise bridge or choke if filtered through magnetic tubes. Chute Magnets are also well suited for abrasive products that would quickly wear through the thinner walls of tubes.
MPI’s Manual-Clean Chute Magnets are designed to remove medium to large-size ferrous tramp metal contaminants from high-volume product flows in gravity-fed vertical chutes. The MC-Series magnets are ideal for use with heavy product flows which would otherwise bridge or choke if filtered through magnetic grates. MPI’s MC-Series magnets are used in many industries including food, feed, chemical, and grain to improve product quality and protect equipment such as milling, processing, and packaging.
MPI’s exclusive Quick-Clean Chute Magnets are designed to remove medium to large-size ferrous tramp metal contaminants from high-volume product flows in gravity-fed vertical chutes. The MC-Series magnets are ideal for use with heavy product flows which would otherwise bridge or choke if filtered through magnetic grates. Available in a drawer-style quick-clean or hinge-mount quick-clean configuration, MPI’s MC-Series magnets are used in many industries including food, feed, chemical, and grain to improve product quality and protect equipment such as milling, processing, and packaging.
The product stream flows between two large permanent magnets located on either side of the chute. A center diverter directs the product flow towards the two magnetic faces, which are stepped to minimize tramp metal “wash-off”. Tramp metal contaminants are “pulled” from the product stream and attach to either magnetic face. The pneumatically operated cleaning shell safely removes the tramp metal from the product stream to a disposal area outside the chute.
